Book of Mormon Derangement Syndrome (BMDS)

Book of Mormon Derangement Syndrome

Book of Mormon Derangement Syndrome (BMDS) is used to describe irrational reactions to The Holy Book of Mormon that completely disregard its doctrine, history, prophecies, and teachings. BMDS sufferers abandon logic and reason,1 manifest blind hatred towards The Holy Book of Mormon, and gaslight2 its believers.

What do BMDS sufferers have in common? The Spirit of Rejection, for they have rejected the Lord’s Word, and now the enemy has access to them, for God’s Spirit won’t dwell in the temple of deniers, but a false or familiar spirit will take its place.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21–23)

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (1 John 2:22)

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (1 John 4:1-3)

7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (2 John 1:7)

Whosoever rejects the record that proclaims the death, resurrection, and sonship of the Lord Jesus is working against Him. Only God would send forth such a record, and only that record would the enemy try to thwart anyone from believing, not the Quran or the Bhagavad Gita, and so on.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. (Matthew 12:30)

Therefore, every BMDS sufferer is possessed by a spirit which accounts for their odd behavior. The Holy Book of Mormon is a prized gift from God, and only sincere seekers of truth will learn its worth; ALL others will be blinded, like the prophecies say.

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. (Moroni 10)

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. (Matthew 7:6)

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. (Matthew 15:26)

12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. (Proverbs 26:12)

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 1:19,21,25)

2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house. (Ezekiel 12:2)

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. (Matthew 11:25–26)

9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
11 And the VISION OF ALL is become unto you as the WORDS OF A BOOK THAT IS SEALED, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a MARVELLOUS WORK among this people, even a MARVELLOUS WORK and a WONDER: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. (Isaiah 29:9–15)

18 And in that day shall the DEAF HEAR the words of the BOOK, and the EYES of the BLIND shall SEE out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
19 THE MEEK also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 29:18–19)

Fulfillment of Prophecy

3 And because my words shall hiss forth—many of the Gentiles shall say: A Bible! A Bible! We have got a Bible, and there cannot be any more Bible.
4 But thus saith the Lord God: O fools, they shall have a Bible; and it shall proceed forth from the Jews, mine ancient covenant people. And what thank they the Jews for the Bible which they receive from them? Yea, what do the Gentiles mean? Do they remember the travails, and the labors, and the pains of the Jews, and their diligence unto me, in bringing forth salvation unto the Gentiles?
5 O ye Gentiles, have ye remembered the Jews, mine ancient covenant people? Nay; but ye have cursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. But behold, I will return all these things upon your own heads; for I the Lord have not forgotten my people.
6 Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible. Have ye obtained a Bible save it were by the Jews?
7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?
8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.
9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.
10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written. (2 Nephi 29)

10 And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and SHALL REJECT the fulness of my gospel [BoM], and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and SHALL REJECT the fulness of my gospel [BoM], behold, saith the Father, I WILL BRING [TAKE] THE FULNESS OF MY GOSPEL [BOM] FROM AMONG THEM [BY BLINDING THEIR EYES]. (3 Nephi 16)

Summary

People suffering from Book of Mormon Derangement Syndrome (BMDS) should know that there was a God-appointed time for the holy record to cross their path, then He and the angels watched to see how it was treated. Those who bitterly rejected and mocked it will receive the same treatment at their judgment.

It’s only after a person has rejected it that He causes their eyes and ears to close, assuring the record will be taken from them, a ‘no more pearls before swine’ scenario, as already stated. Having rejected God’s Word, they now become susceptible to deceiving spirits who are enemies of His Word, and they will play them like a fiddle to forever mock that book. They can’t leave it alone, which is proof they’re possessed by a spirit or a whole colony of spirits who get great joy in using them to mock God. Otherwise, a person would leave it alone and say, “I don’t know,” or “It’s not for me,” or simply, “I’m not interested.”

The same deceptive source is behind people who blaspheme God by using His name to curse, even when claiming to be an atheist; there’s a spirit giving them the idea over and over again, and they can’t let it go. They never use the name of Buddha or Muhammad; it’s always “Jesus Christ” or “G-d d-mn it” in the negative.

Notes

1) Use of double standards. By what standard did they scrutinize and hold the Holy Bible to?

2) A form of psychological abuse or manipulation in which the abuser attempts to sow self-doubt and confusion in their victim’s mind.
